Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 26, 2026. This English version is provided for reference. If it differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.

Verdent AI, Inc. ("we", "us") sets out this Privacy Policy for the Tekoo app and the website at https://tekoo.ai (together, the "Service"). We are a corporation established in the United States. In providing the Service to users in Japan, we comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan (the "APPI") and other applicable laws.

  1. Account information: the identifier, name, email address and profile picture provided by Apple, Google or LINE when you sign in.
  2. Résumé information: name, contact details, education, work history, skills, qualifications and similar information in a résumé, career history or CV you upload; or, if you do not upload one, your answers to our questions (role, years of experience, main technologies, minimum salary, location).
  3. Job preferences: desired role, minimum salary, location and remote work, conditions you cannot accept, and when you plan to change jobs.
  4. Email information: emails from job sites and recruitment agencies (subject, body, sender, date received) that we retrieve when you allow a read-only connection to Gmail or Outlook, and emails you forward to your Tekoo address. These emails may include the names and contact details of recruiters at companies or agencies.
  5. Information derived from emails: job details extracted from these emails (role, company, salary, location, etc.) and information about your job search, such as the companies you applied to and the agencies you deal with.
  6. Your interactions: conversations with the assistant, your reactions to jobs ("Interested", "Skip" and your reasons), and preferences you tell us.
  7. Usage and device information: actions in the app, device type, OS, app version, error information and push notification tokens.
  8. Inquiries: the content of your inquiries and our responses.

We do not collect information that may cause social discrimination, such as permanent domicile (honseki) or place of birth. If a résumé contains such information, we delete it before storing the résumé.

  1. To provide the Service (analyzing emails and résumés, organizing jobs, checking jobs against your conditions, creating and sending the daily report, and showing results that reflect your reactions and preferences)
  2. To sign you in, verify your identity and manage your account
  3. To prevent misuse and keep the Service secure
  4. To investigate problems and maintain and improve the Service
  5. To respond to inquiries and send important notices about the Service
  6. To comply with the law

We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.

4. Google user data

4.2 How we use it

We use data from Gmail only to provide and improve features you see in the app: extracting and organizing jobs, checking them against your conditions, creating your daily report, and showing the original email text behind each result. Job details extracted from your emails are used only to provide features to you, and are not shown to other users or used for any other purpose.

4.3 How we store it

Data from Gmail is stored encrypted in the Amazon Web Services Tokyo region. Retention and deletion are described in Section 10.

4.4 How we share it

We let the service providers listed in Section 7 (AI processing and data storage) handle data from Gmail only as needed to provide these features. We do not sell data from Gmail and do not provide it to advertisers, data brokers or information resellers. We do not transfer it to third parties except as required by law, for security purposes, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you.

4.5 No human reading

Our staff do not read the content of your emails, except (a) with your consent for specific emails, (b) when necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or (c) to comply with the law.

4.6 No advertising, credit decisions or AI training

We do not use data from Gmail to serve advertisements (including personalized, retargeting or interest-based ads) or to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. We do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.

4.7 Google API Services User Data Policy

Tekoo's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4.8 Disconnecting

You can disconnect Gmail at any time in the app's settings or in your Google Account under "Third-party apps & services". Section 10 explains what happens to your data afterwards.

5. AI processing

To provide the Service, we use generative AI from third parties to process the content of emails, résumés and conversations. The providers are listed in Section 7. We use services under which these providers do not use your data to train their own AI models.

The Service shows how jobs compare with your conditions. It does not evaluate your chances of being hired or predict your salary.

6. Provision to third parties

We do not provide personal data to third parties without your consent, except as permitted by law.

We entrust personal data to, or provide it to, the following providers as needed to provide the Service.

The Service is developed and operated by our own employees; we do not outsource this work. Our employees are located in the People's Republic of China, and only employees with administrator rights may access personal data from there, to the extent needed to operate the Service. Email content is stored encrypted so that employees cannot read it, except as described in Section 4.5.

9. Security

If a data breach occurs or may have occurred, we will report it to the Personal Information Protection Commission and notify you as required by law.

Under the APPI, you may request notification of the purposes of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, and suspension of provision to third parties of your personal data. Please contact us at the address in Section 14. We will verify your identity and respond as required by law.

You can view, edit or delete what the assistant remembers about you in the app at any time.

13. Changes

We may change this Privacy Policy when laws or the Service change. We will publish changes on this page, notify you in the Service in advance of important changes, and obtain your consent where required by law.
